In Chapter 13 of Woman in Black by Susan Hill, Arthur Kipps visits Mrs. Drablow's house once again to search for the missing papers. He finds a box of letters and photographs that reveal the tragic history of Jennet Humfrye, a woman who had been sent away from her family as punishment for having an illegitimate child. The pictures show Mrs. Drablow with Jennet and her son, Nathaniel, and Arthur realizes that she was his mother. Arthur also finds a will written by Jennet which gives her son Nathaniel all of her possessions when he turns 21 years old. With this information in hand, Arthur leaves the house to find out more about Jennet and Nathaniel's fate.
