Good morning, everyone! It’s my great pleasure to be here to make a teaching presentation about the fifth unit of our English textbook. The title of this unit is “Making Plans”. Now I would like to say something about my presentation. First, I will introduce the background knowledge and the language points of this unit. Then I will talk about the teaching aims and objectives. After that, I will explain how to teach this unit in four aspects: Teaching procedures, Teaching methods, Teaching aids and blackboard design. Finally, I will give a brief summary of my presentation. OK,let’s start with some background knowledge related to this unit. In this unit,students will learn how to make plans for different occasions such as weekend activities or trips,and also learn some new words and expressions related with making plans。Now let's go over the language points in this section: Students should be able to use modal verbs like can/could/may/might/shall/should; they are also expected to master phrases such as What do you think we should do?; What shall we do?; Shall we…?; Let's…etc。 Next,I'd like to talk about the teaching aims and objectives for this lesson plan: Firstly,the students should be able to understand how people make plans for different occasions; Secondly,they are expected to master some useful language points used in making plans。 Now let me explain how I am going teach this lesson plan in detail。First of all is the teaching procedures: Firstly,I'll lead a class discussion on what kinds of activities people usually do during their free time or on weekends。Then I'll ask students questions such as "What shall we do?" "What do you think we should do?" etc., so that they can get familiar with these useful phrases used when making plans。Thirdly,I'll show them an example dialogue between two friends planning a weekend trip so that they can understand more clearly how people make plans together。Finally,I'll assign a role play exercise where students need work together in groups and practice using those useful phrases by themselves。 Second is teaching methods: To achieve our aims effectively, communicative approach should be adopted throughout the whole process. During class discussion or role-play activities, students will have plenty of opportunities for speaking practice which helps them improve their communication skills greatly. Thirdly is teaching aids: For better understanding of new words or expressions taught in class, multimedia projector may be used if available so that pictures or animations can help illustrate those concepts better than words alone . Last but not least is blackboard design: As usual at beginning of each session there would be some key vocabulary written on blackboard with illustrations if necessary so that it helps reinforce learning effect by providing visual cues while listening or speaking practice takes place afterwards .
